SALATUL FATIHA O Allah, bless our master Muhammad, who opened what was closed, who sealed what had gone before; the helper of Truth by the Truth, the guide to Your straight path, and on his family, may this prayer be equal to his immense position and grandeur.

Sidi Abu Abbas Ahmad Al-Tijani was born in the Southwest Algerian oasis town of Ain Madi on the twelfth of Safar in the year 1150 (1737 C.E.). He was a descendent of the Prophet Muhammad through Fatima Zahra’s first son Hasan and later through Mawlay Idris, the celebrated founder of Morocco. His father was Sidi Muhammad b. al-Mukhtar b. Ahmad b. Muhammad b. Salam, a prominent scholar whose family hailed from the Moroccan Abda tribe and whose grandfather had immigrated to Ain Madi fleeing a Portuguese invasion less than a century before Shaykh Tijani’s birth. This same ancestor was perhaps one of the more renowned of the Tijani line prior to Shaykh Ahmad Tijani, and it is reported that he used to engage so much in spiritual retreat (khalwa) that he would have to walk to the five prayers in the mosque with his face covered, otherwise onlookers would fall so heedlessly in love with him that they would thereafter never be able to separate from him. Sheikh Tijani’s mother, Aisha, was the daughter of Muhammad b. Sanusi (no known relation to Muhammad al-Sanusi, the founder of the Sanusiyya), and was noted for her piety and generosity.

14th to 19th - Hajj Days (8-13 Dhul-Hijjah 1431 H.)
Hajj or pilgrimage to Mecca is one of the five pillars of Islam. It was made obligatory in the 9th year of Hijra. The Holy Prophet Muhammad (SAW) sent off 300 Muslims under the leadership of Hazrat Abubakr Siddique (may Allah be pleased with him) to Mecca so that they could perform Hajj.
The following year, 10th Hijra, the Holy Prophet Muhammad (SAW) announced a head of time he himself would perform Hajj that year. He led tens of thousands of Muslims to Hajj that year and demonstrated to Muslims how to perform all the rites and rituals of the Hajj. This Hajj is known in history as Hajjatul Wida’ or Farewell Pilgrimage because this proved to be the last Hajj the Holy Prophet (SAW) performed.
“This day have I completed My commandments for you, and have brought to its fullness the favour that I have bestowed upon you, and have chosen Islam as your religion”
15th - Day of Arafat (9th Dhul-Hijjah 1431 H.)
The Day of Arafa is an Islamic Holy Day, in which it is said that the religion had been perfected. The original day was on a Friday, happens to be approximately 70 days after the end of the month of Ramadan.
It was in Mount Arafat that the Holy Prophet Muhammad (SAW) gave his famous Farewell Sermon in his final year of life.
“This day have I completed My commandments for you, and have brought to its fullness the favour that I have bestowed upon you, and have chosen Islam as your religion”
The Prophet (SAW) said: The best invocation is that of the Day of Arafat, and the best that anyone can say is what I and the Prophets before me have said:
Laa 'ilaaha 'illallaahu wahdahu laa shareeka lahu, lahul-mulku wa lahul-hamdu wa Huwa 'alaa kulli shay'in Qadeer.
None has the right to be worshipped but Allah alone, Who has no partner. His is the dominion and His is the praise, and He is Able to do all things.
16th - Eid al-Adha (10th Dhul-Hijjah 1431 H.)
Festival of Sacrifice marking the day after Arafat. The Day of Arafat is the most important day in the Hajj ritual. This is a four day holiday.
During the celebration of Eid al-Adha, Muslims commemorate and remember Prophet brahim's (AS) trials, by themselves slaughtering an animal such as a sheep, camel, or goat. The meat is mostly given away to others. One-third is eaten by immediate family and relatives, one-third is given away to friends, and one-third is donated to the poor. The act symbolizes our willingness to give up things that are of benefit to us or close to our hearts, in order to follow ALLAH's commands. It also symbolizes our willingness to give up some of our own bounties, in order to strengthen ties of friendship and help those who are in need. We recognize that all blessings come from Allah, and we should open our hearts and share with others.
